01.4  Casa  Dos Ambientes, Casa Crujía Simple.

Esta casa de crujía simple emplazada en el centro de Empedrado (VII región ,Chile),  fachada continua y baja cota de habitación, modesta y austera, es  también de la vivienda mínima en adobe de principios de s.XX, este tipo de construcción, es muy poco notada, sin embargo es parte de una tipología que se repite una y otra vez, en los poblados , pueblos y ciudades de la región del Maule, ya que es de tamaño medio y citadina, ya los parcelamientos de tierra tienen menor área y la casa queda con el campo hacia adentro y como patio trasero; es el paso de lo rural a lo urbano a principios de 1920.

Se le puede considerar como una casa tipo de dos ambientes, baño en el exterior y corredor invertido. El último espacio se puede entender como un resabio de esa casa de campo con largos corredores exteriores, lugar donde se pasa la mayor parte del día, y que es parte de ese hacer y estar en el paisaje.

Sus espacios interiores, gozan de una luz gutural, baja y doble altura, no tiene cielo ni tampoco instalaciones sanitarias, de apenas 3 metros de ancho, es una casa para familia pequeña o primeriza, o para ser arrendada en el pueblo.

De su problema especifico , en cuanto de su resistencia al pasado terremoto, tiene que ver con la altura del muro interior, (hacia corredor)el cual no pudiendo soportar el trabajo monolítico y las vigas que embebidas en el medio van, sufrió de punzonamiento, cayendo al interior de la vivienda, no es por corte ni flexión, sino por el vaivén generado en la parte alta de la casa.

La planta muestra el sencillo orden, para esta casa urbana mínima del centro de Empedrado, esta tipología es en si misma, un recuerdo de estas basicas formas de habitar en la incipiente urbanidad de la epoca.

En el corte en el muro de los espacios 1 a 3 se produjo el corte y desmoronamiento de la prolongacion del muro cortafuegos de  la casa.

01.4.Two bedroom house.

This a kind of simple space between two supporting walls, located in at the Midtown of Empedrado (7th región). Terraced houses with a short high, modest and humble, it is THE small scale housing from the beginnings of the 20^th century; this sort of construction, is not under the view of most , however this is part of a typology that is repeated more than once  in towns, cities, villes and villages of the 7^th region, it has a medium size, and its urban order is related to   smaller parcels of land , in which they kept the country-side look of the house only  as a backyard; the step from rural towards what we know nowadays as urban, from at least 1920.

Its plan consist on a two bedrooms order, bathroom in the exterior and inverted corridor. This last space can be understood as an old way of doing countryside houses, with long corridors along the property, and it’s the place where people used to spend most of the day working and laboring, part of that doing-being in the landscape. In this case is inverted, (not directed to the street.)

Its interior spaces reflect nothing but a guttural dim lighting, short and with double high, it doesn’t have ceiling or sanitary installations, with only 3.00m high, it was a dwelling for a very small family or to be rented.

Its structure was probed this last earthquake, one of its internal walls (by the corridor) suffered, in its upper part, which collapsed in its own axis , because it didn’t had any other element to join the wall in its transversal  face, there was also embedded  bins  in that area, that took away mass of the walls while the EA was hitting the whole structure,  part of this wall fall into the interior.

The plan shows a simple order, for this urban small scale house of the centre of Empedrado, it’s a typology itself , is a memory of this basic forms of inhabitation .
