Es parte del habitar mínimo de una pequeña comunidad, que se emplaza en medio de plantaciones forestales de pino insigne. Se emplaza en un lugar bastante aislado geográficamente respecto de la Comuna de Empedrado. Alrededor de de 20 km con suelo “trumao”(en mapudungún polvoriento) y mal compactado, se llega por la ruta M454 camino a Sauzal, La zona de Lagunillas,está enclavada en un cordón de cerros aledaños al valle de La Orilla rodeado por plantaciones forestales.

Esta pequeña parroquia, siendo bastante actual, se logra distinguir el tamaño de lugar religioso, siendo bastante penumbrosa, es esa cualidad gutural, la que le otorga el estar de iglesia, fisuramientos en juntas y algunos de corte, no sufrió mayores perjurios, luego del terremoto 2010, sin embargo, la falta de dinero, es también una condición, para darle terminaciones a esta pequeña iglesia.

Su altura le permitió aún siendo de adobe, moverse sin problemas para este pasado terremoto, es la altura y posición en planta, las que le otorgan un nivel de gravedad sin tanta torsión, (la diferencia entre centro de masa y centro de gravedad; como también su centro geométrico).

En corte se aprecia , la sencillez del paralelepidedo, y en planta , tiende al cuadrado, con muy pocos vanos, logra tomar estabilidad, y con ello, sus deformaciones no son tan plásticas ni variables, para lograr que el volumen se agriete en juntas o paños, mientras más sencillo el diseño en tierra, menos alto, y con muros menos intervenidos( rebajes, hornacinas, nuevos vanos), mejor su estabilidad y comportamiento sísmico.

Con vanos en ambos lados, el volumen logra encontrar estabilidad, y no aparecen ni bigotes ( fisuramientos en la linea proyectada de antepechos y/o alfeizares) .

It's an inhabitation way of life, of a small community that sits amid pine forest plantations. Housed in a rather  geographically isolated  hill in the  commune of  Empedrado.  About 20 km  with a "trumao" trail (in Mapudungun dusty) and poorly compacted, the route is reached by way Sauzal M454, the Lagunillas area, is located in a chain of mountains bordering the valley surrounded by plantations of pinus radiata.

This small parish, it's an actual adobe construction, its materiality distinguishes the size of its space by the dim ligh and  guttural quality , which gives the church its special inhabitation.
Cracked wall joints and some of them with torque fissurements; it had no major perjury, after 2010 earthquake, however, lack of money is also a condition to do the finnishings to this little parish.

Its short height enabled it to be still , moving without any problems with the last earthquake, the height and  also plan position,  which  provided a gravity level without much torque (the difference between the center of mass and center of gravity as also its geometric center).


With openings on both sides, the volume manages to find stability, and did not appear  cracks in the projected line of parapets.
In section (& in plan view) it can be appreciate the simplicity of the volume , that it tends to be a cube, with very few openings,  their deformations are not as plastic or variables  as in taller constructions, all of  these qualities allows to  find stability ; to ensure that the volume on joints cracked, some conditions migh apply to have a healthier adobe construction: 


the simpler the design on adobe, shorter walls, and  walls without any intervention (recesses, niches, new openings),with all of these points, better stability and seismic behavior the construction will have.
