Corridor Parish House, Ramirez- Bruna 2010 |
Planta de ubicación Casa Parroquial Villa Alegre. Ramirez-Bruna 2011 |
Interior of the Parish House. Ramirez-Bruna 2010 |
Parish House Villa Alegre. VII región.
The parish house of Villa Alegre, also suffered damages from earthquake 2010, this building is located aside the Church del Niño Jesús de Villa Alegre, place with typical chilean architecture of the region VII.
It's a corridor shaped house , facing the street Abate Molina, and is continuously open side to side corridor across the street, although in Villa Alegre corridors are a spatial typology , they are not public space, but they are like balconies or private terraces of these houses .
Fissurements along the upper part of adobe mansory wall. Ramirez-Bruna 2010 |
This house, like most adobe brick masonry buildings , it is damaged in its joints, but in a lower level, however in some areas those fissures are deeper. As much as any building of adobe ,the damages were certainly generated because of the height of the house causing cracks in the wall joints in the general corridor.
In many cases, renovations, reconstructions or repairs were made in these houses, and they generated more defects and anomalies that tend to damage to these structures even more than the earthquake itself.
In many cases, renovations, reconstructions or repairs were made in these houses, and they generated more defects and anomalies that tend to damage to these structures even more than the earthquake itself.
In the background , a craked wall with the installation of electrical wires, breaking the straw + clay stucco mortar, thereby generating the induced crack line (this means, included the whole wall and lines of fissuring). It is usual ,renovating the corridors glanzing the inbetween columns; when these buildings included additions as bedrooms, they were usually made in adobe, with the constructive system called wooden partition walls and adobillo ( smaller adobe brick). Those tend to crack in the stucco over the wooden structures.
